Future of Work Global Consortium
As experts are predicting massive unemployment in the future, we at Future of Work Global Consortium are seeing this to be a vast opportunity for young people (or young at heart!) to be able to work on their passions and hobbies.
The Three "Essences"
Based on the IITTI 'World Civility Index' publication in Canada on the Youth Standard on Jan 7, 2022 as follow:
Cultivate hobbies
Young people need to develop their focus, passion and interests so they will never feel "useless".
How to talk to old people
This develops young people's communication skills, and empathy.
How to deal with boredom
No more instant gratification! Young people need to learn that, in order to achieve anything great, they need to learn how to "walk through the desert of boredom"!
Founders you can count on
Founders who have "been there, done it!" Let's not sugar-coat anything; they understand what unconscious bias is. They understand what needs to be taught to the next generation.
Patrick Chun
Engineer, entrepreneur. Sold company years ago and co-founded non-profit 'World Civility Index', which is somewhat similar to one's credit rating, but instead of measuring how well a person can pay his bills, it measures a person's manners! Now being used as the base for our company here.
What exactly is Future of Work Global Consortium?
A presentation by Patrick Chun at Leadership Agenda Summit June 30, 2022 in Dubai.
How can a company participate?
A company can subscribe to the World Civility Index "Reading Program & Activities" where employees can read articles, watch videos, or participate in webinars about soft skills such as business etiquette, empathy, and intercultural awareness to earn World Civility Index points. Proceeds are fed to the curriculum-building of the Three "Essences" for youth as mentioned above.
Part of ESG Sustainability Reporting
The cumulative points of all employees can also be shown as a company "average" and shown in annual reports as part of the company's ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) sustainability reporting (see diagram below).
In other words, the "Index" can do good for the company culture, raise their ESG rating, and good for society at the same time. Feeding three birds with one seed!
Get in Touch
If you don't see how your young people are going to find meaningful work in the next 5-10 years with the advent of AI (artificial intelligence), robots and driver-less cars, we suggest you to take a look at what the UN Sustainable Development's 'World Civility Index' is recommending (the three main "essences" are written above). This is the basis from which we are using in terms of developing the 21st-century curriculum.
